Good morning. I didn't have the most exciting reading week, but here goes...
No new books.
Books read:
26) The Source of Magic (Xanth #2) by Piers Anthony (4/20/21) - Fantasy - 5 stars. Not new to me or underappreciated. Got this in the box lot of paperbacks.
Review: "It's been ages since I read this one. It's enjoyable. Not my favorite in some aspects, but in others, quite good."
DNFs:
4/18/21 - I set aside that Zane Grey I was reading. I just couldn't get into it. I'll try it again another time.
Currently reading... I'm still reading that NF ebook. It's slow going, but I'm up to 45% now. And I'm reading an Agatha Christie in paperback.
What were you up to in your reading last week?
Also a slow week for me. I've finished 59 of my 200 challenge. Still doing the Kristen Ashley marathon because I still can't get into anything "new" and I don't want to do a book/author disservice because it's me not them. Technically, I finished 2 books, but added the one I finished last Saturday because I've slept since then and don't remember if I included it as finished or currently reading. Anyway...
ReplyDelete59) Rock Chick Revolution (Rock Chick, #8) Contemporary romance/touch of suspense, 4 stars. I switched to it because the previous book in the CM series sort of ends where this book starts. It's a crossover over sorts. Anyway...lots of gratuitous sex but the hero and heroine have some good by-play and she has to prove to her family of alpha heroes (cops and PIs) that she's alpha female enough to be in the family business.
58) Breathe (Colorado Mountain, #4) Romantic suspense, 4 stars. He has MANY issues. She's the town's sweet librarian. They fit and work it out but she's caught up in some of his issues (bad cops and rich @$$hats). It's a nail-biter but very sweet too.
57) Lady Luck (Colorado Mountain, #3) Romantic suspense, 4 strs. He's sent to prison in a different state for a murder he didn't commit. She's conned by a bad dude who has her under his thumb to go pick up the soon-to-be-ex-con. He needs a wife. He makes a deal. They fall in love. It's a rollercoaster ride with lots of feels. Plus the plot rolls into the next book, BREATHE.
Currently re-listening to KALEIDOSCOPE (CM #6). Another Romantic suspense. I skipped the intervening books because they were okay but not compelling. I like the hero on this one--he played a big part in BREATHE. Just realized I only gave it 3 stars. Haven't looked at my review. It's okay because I like the hero. And his journey is pretty cool. We'll see if I stick with it. After it, not sure where I'll go. Stupid head space. Ah well.
Happy reading!
Oops. I lied. I've finished 61 books and am 1 book ahead of shedule. I hadn't refreshed my Goodreads page when I posted. My bad.
