Hello again. Sorry I'm late, but I was finishing a book.
Last Saturday, I stopped by the thrift store and picked up a bunch of books - three cozy mysteries, two suspenses, and a romantic suspense. Oh, and I also snagged a paranormal romantic suspense yesterday in ebook, so yay.
Books Read:
63) The Time of the Hunter's Moon by Victoria Holt (11/19/22) - Romantic Suspense - 4 stars. I loved another book by Victoria Holt, so not new to me and not underappreciated.

DNFs:
11/14/22 - SF - 50c. It was by a well-known SF author, but it was just weird. And it jumped all over the place, so by like 100 pages in, I still couldn't figure out what the plot was supposed to be or even who the main characters were. Meh. Back to the thrift store for you, bub.
11/13/22 - mystery - 10c. Yawn.
Currently reading... I just now finished that last book, so I haven't started anything yet. I'll start that paranormal romantic suspense this afternoon. =o)

I'm at 145 books of my 150 goal. I'll probably up the goal when I hit 149. I'm still 13 books ahead even though I only finished 2 books this week. I should count the book I finished revising and polishing because I "read" it too. LOL Anyway, still doing my Nalini Singh Guild Hunter/Archangel marathon. I'm finally on the new release. I have about 9 hours left to listen. I'm not that into this book which gives me a bit of a sad but good because I didn't fret when I couldn't get to it. Anyway, the two I DID finished:
ReplyDelete145 - Archangel's Light (Guild Hunter #14), Fantasy/ParaRom/AltHist(?) [I never know how to label this series so I throw the kitchen sink at it], 5 stars. Illium and Adhan's story--more Adhan's than Illium's because his tortured past is finally revealed. These two, both members of the Seven, have been best friends since they were tiny angels flitting about the refuge like drunken bumblebees learning to fly. Their love is abiding and sweet and while m/m isn't anywhere on my list of catnip, I truly enjoyed this book, which is more about feelings than "actions" of which I'm appreciative. (FYI, those who have that particular catnip were sorely disappointed in the book, so there ya go. Different strokes and all that.)
144 - Archangel's Sun (Guild Hunter, #13), Fantasy/ParaRom/AltHist(?) - 5 stars. Love story between the angel known as The Hummingbird (a renowned artist and mother to Illium, one of Raphael's Seven) and Titus, one of the Cadre Archangels. It's a good story with a HUGE character arc for Shirene (the Hummingbird) and watching her finally come back into her own was awesome.
Currently listening to newest release in the series, ARCHANGEL'S RESURRECTION. This tells the story of the newly awakened Archangel Alexander and even newer-awoken Archangel Zanaya. I should explain a little. Angels are mostly immortal, Archangels especially so. They can be killed by it takes like an army of other archangels. Anyway, living for thousands of years gets boring so angel-kind will choose to "sleep." They go underground--literally--in hidden places and hibernate for however long. In the course of the series, the Archangelic war caused many of the "sleepers" to awaken. I'll admit, I'm not totally invested in these characters which is why I'm not in a rush to listen nonstop. I'll finish it in the next couple of days and after that? No clue what I'll plug in.
