Saturday Reading Wrap-up - 5/7/22

Hey, All.  Sorry I'm late.  I forgot it was Saturday.  Anyway, here's how my reading week went:

I picked up 5 new ebooks on Sunday - paranormal mystery, romance, UF, cozy mystery and suspense.  One of them I've really been looking forward to, but alas, I'm writing again and trying to keep my head in my own world, so I'm staying out of other people's worlds.  Maybe once this book of mine gets rolling, I can dip my toes into reading again.

Books Read:

27) Cry From the Grave by Carolyn Mahoney (4/30/22) - Suspense* - 4 stars.  New to me, but not underappreciated.  Free off Reading Deals newsletter.
No review.

No DNFs.

Currently reading... nada.

What was on your reading list this week?  Anything you're looking forward to?

  1. I've read 58 books of my 150 goal. I'm currently 7 books ahead of schedule. Go figure! I managed 4 books, finishing one sereis marathon and starting another.

58 - Protect the Prince (Crown of Shards, #2), Estep, Jennifer, fantasy w/romantic elements - 5 stars. This is tagged as one of my best books of the year. Estep is a master of fantasy worldbuilding, characters, and plot threads through the whole series. HIGHLY recommend this book!

57 - Kill the Queen (Crown of Shards, #1), Estep, Jennifer, fantasy w/hint of romance, 5 stars. Also tagged as best book of the year. There is foreshadowing in this book that is now taking shape in the 3rd book. Amazing stuff. Magic is unusual, world is unique and the emotion is real.

56 - Shadow Fire (Shadow Riders #7) Feehan, Christine, paranormal romance, 4 stars. I liked the couple, it's a second chance romance and lots of action without all the dragging angst and repetition of prevous books in this series. Warning: this series is very dark and very down and dirty--to the point that the books would probably be 1/3 shorter if you cut all the gratuitous sex scenes. IMO.

55 - Shadow Storm (Shadow Riders, #6), Feehan, Christine, paramnormal romance, 3 stars. My least favorite in the series despite really liking the main couple and the Romeo/Juliet plot. There's just too much else that drags the story.

Currently listening to Crush the King (Crown of Shards #3). Love this series and so happy there's a new release, hence my marathon relisten. I still have about 5 hours to go so it'll probably be tomorrow before I finish it--busy day today. One book after this one and then the new release. Yay.

Happy writing and I hope you find some time for reading.
