Saturday Reading Wrap-up - 2/20/21

Oops, I forgot to schedule this and I woke up late today.  But I'm here now, so here goes what little there was...  Needless to day, it wasn't an exciting week in reading for me.

I only picked up one new book this week - a paranormal romance new release.  I'm reading it now.  I still have 4 unread ebooks - urban fantasy, suspense, and two mysteries.

Books Read:

Pawsitively Poisonous by Melissa Erin Jackson (2/16/21) - Paranormal Mystery* - 5 stars.  New to me, but not underappreciated.  Free off the ENT newsletter.
Review: "Super cute paranormal mystery with an interesting premise. Loads of fun to read."
Note: Available in audio.

No DNFS.

Currently reading... the above mentioned PR romance.  So far, so yummy.

What was on your reading list this week?

  1. Last week wasn't a great week for listening for me either. I'm at 26 books on the year, 1 behind schedule. That's sort of a first, though I'm pretty sure I'll catch up and get ahead again. Life and stuff kept getting in the way of my listening enjoyment. Ah well. Both books dropped from the library, 2nd book in the series first, so read them out of order. It didn't muck things up doing it that way. Author is a NYT BSer so not new or underappreciated but this series ties in with her Arcane books that span all of her nom de plumes.

26 - The Vanishing (Fogg Lake #1, Jayne Ann Krentz, Paranormal romance, 4 stars. It was fun to remember some of the names/lineages from Arcane. H/h well suited, with some derring do and danger as a plus.

25 - All the Colors of Night (Fogg Lake #2, Jayne Ann Krentz, paranormal romance, 4 stars. Pretty much the same as above even though I listened to this one first. That's the way the waiting list dropped. LOL

Currently reading BLOOD HEIR, which is the book I started last week but stopped because I own this copy and there were names behind me on the waiting list. Even though I can keep the book for 2 weeks, I get irritated by having to wait on slow readers/listeners. Anyway, fun to be back in Kate Daniels's world, this time with a grown-up Julie in BLOOD HEIR. Enjoying it so far, having made it to Chpater 10. Once I finish it? I'll be zipping through the Season 2 books of Tarpley VFD on Kindle Unlimited. 😉 That'll get me caught up and ahead, I'm sure.

I appreciate the audio cues. I'll check out the mystery, see if it's in the library.) Happy reading!
