Saturday Reading Wrap-up - 2/12/22

Umm... I didn't do anything this week with regard to reading.  At least not other people's books.  I'm about 35% in on edit-reading my own book - Song of Storm and Shroud.  I'll try again next week to read someone else's stories.

On the other hand, you've probably been reading out there, so feel free do drop your titles and talk about what's going on in your reading world.

  1. Congrats on the editing progress. I got caught up and then due to RL, I'm once again 1 book behind. Currently sitting at 16 books toward my goal. Wasn't a great week, but not too bad, either. I managed 3 books, 2 audio, 1 digital. The first one might sound a little familiar. 😉

16 - Natural Causes (A Dennis Haggarty Mystery #2) B.E. Sanderson, Mystery with Romantic Elements/Police Crime, 5 stars. This book, and others, are now available from Overdrive which means people can request them from the library. Yes, I own a copy but I thought I'd recommend my library get a copy since, when I first checked after the OD notice, it wasn't available. Lo and behold, a week later, I get a notice that my hold is ready. Yay! So I checked it out and read it again. Still totally awesome.

15 - Faithless in Death (In Death, #52), JD Robb. Futurisitc Crime/Police Procedural/SciFi/Romantic elements. 3 stars. And I had to struggle to give it that many. This series is 5 stars for me but this book? It pushed my buttons on a variety of levels. I gave it 3 stars based on the actual investigation and the narration. If I judged it on the political crap alone, it would have had maybe 1/2 a star.

14 - Shadows in Death (In Death, #51) JD Robb, FC/PP/SF/RE. 5 stars. THIS book evidenced everything I love about the series. It was amazing, even on a re-listen.

Currently listening to FORGOTTEN IN DEATH. The plot is coming back to me and if a certain element turns out to be true, I'll very likely do something rash in my updated review. Anyway, it's slow going due to RL, as mentioned.

Here's to a week filled with books, regardless of what we are doing with them--editing, reading, writing.
