Saturday Reading Wrap-up - 9/24/22

Not a whole lot going on in my reading world these days, but hey, at least I still have a reading world. Right?

I picked up two new books last week - a fantasy and a paranormal romantic suspense.  I still have a suspense and a paranormal mystery left from the week before, so it's all good.  No new hardcopies.  I really need to hit the thrift stores.

Books Read:

50) The Miser's Dream by John Gaspard (9/18/22) - Mystery*3 - 5 stars.  Not new to me, being a 3rd book and all, but it could use more stars.  Paid $4.99.
Review: "I loved the first two books in this series and book 3 didn't disappoint. I love the characters, of course, and the premise is always fun. Like the first two, the mystery here was excellent."
Available in audio format.

No DNFs.

Currently reading... that paranormal romantic suspense.  I've read it before, but it was re-released with changes and added material after the author got her rights back.  I can't wait to see all the changes.  So far, so awesome.

What was on your reading list last week?

  1. This was a better week for me, book-wise. I'm at 117 books, 8 ahead of schedule. I managed 5 books this past week. Yay!

117 - Ghost Hunter (Ghost Hunters/Harmony, #3) Jayne Castle, Para/SciFi/Rom - 5 stars. New narrator, heroine a little whiny but good story. This is a fav series and usually gets the "marathon" treatment when a new book releases, which it has.

116 - After Glow (Ghost Hunters/Harmony, #2) - Jayne Castle - 5 stars, same as above. This is a "continuation" of the first book. Same couple. Fun times.

115 - After Dark (Ghost Hunters/Harmony, #1) Jayne Caste - 5 stars. (There's a novella (BRIDAL JITTERS) that is 0.5 in the series that sets things up but Jayne does a good job filling in the worldbuilding blanks in each book) Emmet and Lydia. There's mystery and suspense. She gets kidnapped. And there's a dust bunny.

114 - When He's Ruthless (The Olympus Pride #4), Suzanne Wright, ParaRom - 4 stars. New release. Dark-n-dirty with lots of sexy bits. This is a new release and deals with a Pallas cat alpha (and the Beta of his pack - #2 behind Alpha) who discovers his true mate when she's 12. A bush dog, her parents aren't thrilled and her mother is a real piece of work. There's a stalker and lots of action in and around the sexy bits. Luke is very patient and there was no squick factor about her age. He waits until she's a legal adult. I like this series but I could do with a little bit less of the sexy times.

113 - When He's Sinful (The Olympus Pride #3), Suzanne Wright - 4 stars. A tiger and a bear cat (Red Panda). They bonded as kids in foster care, both from horrible backgrounds so that the mating bond was blocked. Again, good suspense plot amidst the sexy bits.

Currently listening to SILVER MASTER (Ghost Hunters/Harmony #4. I'll finish it today or tomorrow and then on to the next in the series. Happy reading! *Psst* Hope you enjoy that Para/RomSusp you're reading. 😉
