Last night, I finished the rewrite I've been killing myself over for the past 6 weeks. Those of you who asked to read it back in July should have a copy in your inbox. If you don't have it and you should, or you decided now that you really do want to read it, let me know either in comments or via email.
It topped out at just over 98K. I started the rewrite on May 22nd at a really really slow pace. It took me a month to write the first 20K words. The last 78K took from 6/25 to 8/7. 6 weeks, seventy-eight thousand words, ten puffy fingers and two ouchy wrists later and it's done.
And now for an action shot of Mittens the Bobcat...
That was her scampering away into the woods on the day we first sighted her.
Congratulations! You deserve a little celebration now. :)ReplyDelete
I'm curious. Have any little dogs or cats gone missing since Mittens arrived?
When people see a bobcat here they hide their little pets.
Not that I've head of, Maria. The neighbor across the street asked us to call him if we saw her again so he could make sure his cats and kittens are inside. And they keep their little dog in the house (she's old and blind, so never goes outside alone).ReplyDelete
I do know one of our wild rabbits hasn't been around lately, and bobcats eat rabbits more than anything else. =o(
Congratulations on finishing! Such a great feeling, isn't it?ReplyDelete
Congrats! You did it! You should bound like Mittens!ReplyDelete
And cool photo! Mittens is really moving. (That was inane. I hope you know what I mean; I haven't had any coffee today. ;)
YAY!! And, yes, it's in my inbox, but I'm trying very hard not to open it up as I am working right now (can't you tell?)!!!ReplyDelete
Poor rabbit :( Mittens should become a vegetarian!!!
Thanks, Stacy. Yeah. This one has been a bear, but it feels great to have it finished.ReplyDelete
LOL, JB. My bounding days are over, but I can dance around in my chair. ;o)
Thanks, Deb. LOL, I know what you mean. She's moving as in she's hauling ass. She sure was - that's why the pic is a little blurry.
Yay! Do not open while working, Janet. (Even when you're 'working'.) I keep hoping the other rabbit is just off tending the nest or something, but as time passes, I'm losing hope. Such is nature.
Congrats!! That's so awesome! Let me know if you want another crit reader. You helped me a lot with Everdream.ReplyDelete
And Mittens is super cute!
