Like really old style. As in, here are some rocks I collected...
There they all are... at least there are the ones I haven't cleaned up so they can come inside.
I think that one is petrified wood.
No clue what that is, but isn't it cool?
More petrified wood, I think. I'm a writer, not a geologist, Jim.
That one has a sparkly crystal geode in it.
Might be zebra quartz.
This one has a couple tiny crystal geodes in it.
I'm almost positive that one is petrified wood. You can see the rings. (Hubs calls that one the grumpy rock. See the face?)
I have a bunch more in the house that I haven't photographed yet, but I won't bore you with those. Well, maybe someday I'll post a pic of this crystal thing I found. It's pretty wild.
Whatcha ya gonna do with them? They're awesome - and, yes, I see the grumpy face (maybe because I can relate this morning ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll clean them up and bring them inside. At some point, I'm hoping to buy a little shelving unit where they can be displayed. =o) For now, they'll make good bookends and decorative pieces here and there.
DeleteI use some of my bigger, prettier rocks as bookends on my library shelves. The smaller ones with fossils I keep in my curio cabinet.
ReplyDeleteLove the petrified wood. I only have a very small piece of petrified wood in my collection.
My smaller, prettier ones are scattered on my bookshelves, Maria. Or they're in a box for when I get a curio cabinet. =o)
DeleteI'm not 100% certain this stuff is petrified wood, but it sure looks like it.
You've got a wonderful collection of rocks there and I particularly like the grumpy petrified wood rock, which is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debs. I really like that one, too. =o)
DeleteWhat a wonderful collection, especially the grumpy one :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karyn. Grumpy rock seems to be the favorite by a landslide. =o)
DeleteI love finding faces in odd places. I agree that's likely petrified wood. I love rocks. I toss them in the flowerbed out back where the bird feeders are. Or line them around the bird bath, which is on the ground so the squirrels and other critters can get drinks. :D
ReplyDeleteOh, we are lousy with rocks here, Silver. I have a whole rock bed where I used to have the irises before I moved them - and those are just rocks I gathered from the yard area and where Hubs dug up the foundation. The woods have rocks everywhere. I'm in rockhound heaven. ;o)
