Bored

This is what happens when I get up obscenely early.  I go through my usual morning tasks - read blogs, read the FB newsfeed, check the actual news - before 6am and then I'm left with nothing to do.  I'm far too under-caffeinated to work and too under-motivated for cleaning.

I did spend some time this morning reading Wikipedia pages devoted to old cartoon characters.  They're pretty funny.  (Or maybe that's just me.  I get silly when I'm tired.)

Then I did FB quizzes.  I found out this morning that in the category of 'What TV Mom Are You?" I'm Morticia Adams, in "What Muppet are You?" I'm Gonzo.  I'm Monica on Friends, and Belle in Disney Heroines - according to them.  I can see Belle, but I am so not Monica (at least not all the way).

And then the quizzes ran out.

I'm bored.

Oh, I have things to do.  I just don't want to do any of them.  Meh and Bleh.

I feel like Garfield hanging on the screen door.  Boredboredbored.

This'll only last another hour or so.  Then the sun will be up and so will Hubs.  Then I can start working on my to-do list and later, I'll go to my doctor appt.  (No biggie, just my quarterly shot.)

Maybe I'll spend some time shredding printed chapters.  That's a boring task suited to my mood.  Plus, it's quiet, so I won't wake Hubs.  And it is something I need to do before the pile takes over.

Maybe I'll go watch YouTube videos of old cartoons.

What do you do when you're bored?

  1. The only time I'm bored is when hubby insists I watch tv with him--and he turns on a program about rebuilding a car engine. Oy!

Strangely, I'm not usually bored if I'm by myself, only when I'm cornered to do something I don't want to do.

    1. LOL, Maria. When Hubs watches something I'm not interested in, I read. This particular morning, I didn't even want to do that. But like I said I would, I got over it.

  2. Oops. Sorry. I didn't post a blog today. I had the page open, stared at it, and realized I had nothing to say. So...no post today. I have a bunch to do but babysitting Sprout again. He had a fever spike yesterday. Doctors have eliminated flu/influenza and strep. *shrug* I have work that needs to be done. And I should be working on 1 of 3 projects that are due. Ah, well.

When truly bored, I read. Old favorite books.

    1. Well, darn it all, Silver. You're supposed to entertain me every day.

So sorry Sprout's under the weather. I hope he's better today. :hugs: I also hope you got some work done.

Like I said to Maria, I was so bored I didn't even feel like reading. But I got better.

  3. I sew or read, or listen to music and write in my day journal. Sometimes I iron fabric from my stash that's wrinkled (I know, weird, but ironing soothes me.)

    1. Those all sound like great ways to defeat boredom, Lynn. Even the ironing - if it works for you. =o)

  4. Your first book is coming out! You can't be bored! ;) Plus, being up before 6 is an ungodly time of day.

I drink wine and watch Netflix, or surf the internet.
