Internet Difficulties

Something is weird with CenturyLink in the state of Missouri (at least that's what the tech guy told me).  Earlier I could still get on FB, at least, then that went away, too.  At least I still have some of the blogs I read - the ones held by blogger - and my gmail.  I can Google stuff, too... just hardly any of the links take me anywhere.

So, anyway, if you need me, email me.  I'm still alive.  I just can't reach Pandora or the NaNoWriMo site or my friend Silver's blog or Twitter or... :sob: Facebook.

I watched UP! instead of being online.  It made me cry.  Twice.

What are you up to tonight?

(And yes, I know... this should be the perfect time to write, but I've lost the will this evening.  And :whine: I can't play my Pandora station I created just for this book - the one with the kind of music I don't have on CD.  Well, except for that one CD, but I refuse to listen to the same CD on repeat.  Blame my brother who listened to the same three records on repeat ad nauseum when I was a kid.  I still can't listen to John Denver without cringing.  Anyway, I'll make up the words tomorrow or over the weekend or something.)

  1. Oh, ugh! Did they give you any idea of when things will get back to normal? We miss you!! Though I wonder if it might have something to do with the storms from the other day?

Hang in there and come back to see us when the net works. AND GET BACK TO WRITING!

    1. They never give an accurate idea of when anything's going to be fixed, Silver. I miss you, too. It's one thing to choose to be offline, but forced offline-ness sucks. I don't think it's the storms. I had thought the municipal moron who was out 'mowing' (i.e. butchering the trees lining the road out of our neighborhood) might've hit the DSL box. But the tech guy said it was wider than just here.

This morning things are slightly better. We can get some news sites now, but still can't get into the sites my husband needs. And certain other sites - like Penumbra - are unavailable to me. =o(

I will write today. I promise.

  2. Are you back, yet? Internet - hate it, can't live without it!! And I hear you about the writing mojo - where there's a will there's a way, but first you need to find the will!!

    1. I can see most things Google based for some reason, Janet, so my blogs are fine. And I'm still getting gmail. I lost Facebook last night but it's back this morning. I haven't tried your blog yet, but if you're on blogger, I should be able to stop by. And yeah, my mojo got thrown yesterday, but I need to be resilient and get back to work.

  3. THIS IS IT! THE TAKEOVER HAS BEGUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!

    *muppet arm flail*

Ahem. Sorry, sorry, I seem to have gotten a bit ahead of myself.

I'm sorry you can't access anything on the internet. That really sucks. At least you got to watch UP though. I love that movie. In the first five minutes I was blubbering like a baby. THAT'S good storytelling, and shows us how less is more. Not a single word was said for the husband and wife, and yet we loved them as characters right from the beginning. *sighs happily*

    1. I admit, it did get my underlying conspiracy theorist into overdrive, Nat. But I got over it. Both Fox and CBS were toast to me. This morning I can reach Bloomberg, but not Forbes... Could still be something there... I may be paranoid, but that doesn't mean they aren't out to get me. ;o)

I hadn't taken the time to watch it before, Nat. And I almost turned it off because it made me cry in the first 5 minutes. I was looking for fun and funny last night - not heartbreaking. But I stuck with it. =o)

    2. Lmao the takeover begins in Missouri. No one would ever suspect! *cackles*

Yeah, it is very emotional at first, but the rest of the movie is fantastic. I love it. =)
