What Makes You Follow

I was thinking this morning and I wanted to ask you all a question.

What makes you follow a blog? And where do you find new blogs to follow in the first place?

Personally, if one of the blogs I already follow posts a link to a different blog, and it sounds interesting, I click through.  If when I get there, the blog really is fun or interesting - or sometimes if the person just seems nice - I follow the blog.  Every rare once in a while, I find a new blog to follow from the sidebar of another blog.  And when I'm feeling really bored, I surf for new blogs.  (That last one hasn't happened in a long time because I'm following tons of blogs already.)

And finally, are there any really great blogs I should be following that I somehow might've missed?  Feel free to leave a link or something in the comments.

*Pay no attention to the woodchuck.  He really has nothing at all to do with this post.  I just thought he was cute.

I follow blogs because I enjoy reading the posts. (What a boring anwer I've just given... can you tell I've just finished work and am not quite with it."

  2. Yes I love the woodchuck too! I love anything that makes me laugh, has good pictures, captures my imagination or empathy and has a story to tell. Not much to ask is it?!!

  3. I mostly find new blogs to follow from blog comments, blog sidebars, and mentions in blog posts.

When thinking about whether or not to follow a blog after a post catches my eye, a read a few of the posts to see if they hold my interest.

  4. Love the woodchuck. He looks very...woodchucky.

I follow any blog about writing that I can. And of course, I follow any blog that follows mine, out of courtesy (so long as I can find them back!)

  5. I follow interesting blogs. I agree with Lydia about following blogs that follow you because it is common courtesy.

  6. I find a lot of blogs through clicking on comments and through guest posts on blogs I already follow. I rarely ever click on blog sidebars, but I'm sure you can find a lot of great blogs that way.
