With all propers to You've Got Mail, I must say that it isn't The Godfather that's the I Ching. It's Monty Python. Monty Python is the sum of all wisdom. For all questions, Monty Python has the answer...
Where should I go today? "Let's not go there. It's a silly place."
What time is it? "At this time, a friend shall lose his friend's hammer and the young shall
not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their
fathers put there only just the night before, about eight o'clock."
What light through yonder window breaks? "It's our grail-shaped nightlight."
Is there a god? "He's no messiah. He's just a naughty naughty boy."
What should I do for a living? "I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay."
How much should I pay? "Bring us a shubbery!"
Do I need a doctor? "It's just a flesh wound."
Should we do charity work? "Oh, it’s ‘blessed are the meek’. I’m glad they’re getting something, they have a hell of a time."
Is there an afterlife? "Bring out your dead."
I haven't seen Monty Python, but I find that The Princess Bride works well, too.ReplyDelete
What's your name? "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die."
If you like stupid British humor, Jen, give Monty Python and the Holy Grail a whirl.Delete
I love The Princess Bride. It has much wisdom, too. =o)
Love Monty P. Leaving work the other week I had BBC Radio 2 on and Eric Idle was being interviewed. They've got a new stage show coming soon, all the best bits of the TV shows and some new material. I bet tickets are like rocking horse s***. Would be worth it though.ReplyDelete
A new stage show? How cool would that be. You ought to go, Fran.Delete
I LOVE Monty Python! And, thanks, I believe HOLY GRAIL will be the movie of choice tonight - Ni, Peng and Neee-wom!!ReplyDelete
Ugh, I haven't watched in years. They never show it on TV! Have fun watching it tonight, Janet. =o)Delete
I adore Monty Python. My favorite is definitely The Holy Grail. The Hubby's cousin was in Spamalot this year at her HS (she was lady of the lake) and we went twice. It was excellent.ReplyDelete
Exactly, Nat. The Holy Grail is the pinnacle of MP wisdom, imo. Haven't seen Spamalot yet.Delete
Such a fun way to end the week -- thank you!!ReplyDelete
Thanks for enjoying it, JB!Delete
ROFL. Only and Lawyer Guy are HUGE Python fans and will quote scenes to each other. I just sit back like the fond mom/spouse I am. ;) TGIF!ReplyDelete
LOL, Silver, you're such a good mom/spouse. The Kid and I quote the scenes at each other, too.Delete
Ahhh, but there are some questions even Monty Python can't answer. "What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"ReplyDelete
LOL, too true.Delete
