It's Sunday and I'm sitting here wondering where last week went. Hell, I'm wondering where January through September and the first half October went, too. Zoom. Right by me.
Anyway, piecing together the last week, here's what I came up with...
I finalized the cover for BloodFlow and posted it on Outside the Box on Friday. In case you missed it or don't feel like clicking over there, here it is:
Tada!
I also finalized the blurb. I'll post that on Outside the Box tomorrow.
I didn't want to wait for the newsletter to come out and I'm really not sure why I have a newsletter. The people who subscribe are all people who follow me on FB or on the blogs or on Twitter, and holding newsletter contests really doesn't seem to be netting me any new subscribers. (The last contest, I drew the name of someone who already had the book. Yay, Janet!) So, I'll continue to reward the people who follow me everywhere else and maybe let the newsletter lie dormant until I figure out a way to get people interested.
We're still on track for launch on November 24th. I hope to have it available for pre-order on the 13th.
A friend just now sent me a link to this Q&A with Bella Andre. She's my self-publishing idol. Which reminds me that I really need to get cranking on these sequels. Right now, I'm still trying to decide between Djinn2 and SCIU2. I read through Djinn2 (In Deep Wish) and love it. I'm reading through SCIU2 (Fertile Ground) right now and I'm loving it, too. Ack, decisions. If I could afford it and wouldn't think I'd break my editor and my sanity, I'd push them out back to back.
I read three books in the past few days, but only one of them is available - Until Proven Innocent by my good friend, JB Lynn. It rocked. I also read a beta copy of a book that's due out 10/31. And I read In Deep Wish. Those last two don't count toward my Goodreads goal (yet), and I'm like 12 books behind. I knew going into this year that 100 books was too high a goal.
Other than that? What's up in your world?
I had to up my Goodreads goal because I hit it about 2 weeks ago. I had the added impetus of judging, and I admit I didn't even list all the books I've read this past year for various contests.I'm still doing the brain-doesn't-want-to-think-too-hard comfort read thing. Switching back and forth between 3 series (Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels and Nalini Singh's Psy-Changling and her Guild Hunter/Archangel).
ReplyDeleteNot a good week/weekend sports wise. Cubs are out, beaten by the hated Mets. Royals are in so that's a plus. They're sort of our AL team. The real OSU won but such tragedy on campus. OU won. The pretender OSU won, beating poor Rutgers. Go Michigan! Really hoping they pull that upset off!
Edits on THE DEVIL'S CUT are going. I gave up yesterday and piddled with my website. I have Spotify now and attempted to make playlists for the Penumbra books. I think it worked, though not all the songs in the original soundtracks were available. Made me sad, and of course, I had to waste time finding alternatives. *rolls eyes* I have to do some non-writing paperwork/writing today, then I'm back to edits. Next Saturday is looming large and I need to have TDC formatted and shipped out so it'll hit at the right time on the 'zon.
That's pretty much my life at the moment. That and leaves. At least cooler temps are here to stay. Have a good week.
Crud. And I forgot. Love the cover for the new book! Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteLove the new cover! And YAY for loving both of your next books!
ReplyDeleteI guess newsletters are for the long term. I'm not up to making one yet. Heck, I have a hard enough time posting on my blog!
Hmm. I don't think I got your newsletter again. Maybe I entered my email address wrong?
Still plugging away on 4C. Allergies and thunderstorms slowed me down a bit. We had 15" of rain in 24 hours. Yikes! The driveway washed out again - but in a new place. The repairs held up, though. Hooray! :-)
Love the cover and can't wait to read the blurb.
ReplyDeleteI'm up to 284 books read this year and didn't realise you could change your total on Goodreads, as I'd originally said my target was 200. This weekend I read Lauren Dane's Falling Under, Jaci Burton's All Wound Up and I'm listened to Christine Feehan's Oceans of Fire, then started Dangerous Tides. Now reading Larissa Ione's Hades.
Rained up a storm on Saturday but was glorious on Sunday.
Woken up at about 3am (well probably 2am because we put the clocks back an hour) on Sunday morning by a desk fan falling off a shelf and smashing. Scared the ***t out of me and it took a long while before my heart stopped pounding.
