Marketing Monday - Natural Causes

Well, it's another Monday and I'm marketing.  I decided to let loose with Natural Causes because it's been like 6 months since I marketed it.  Thus, it's free starting today.  Have at it.

Starting today, NATURAL CAUSES is free.  (Always free with Kindle Unlimited.)  Pick up your copy of this hard-boiled crime novel today.  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y44BXTM

Personally, I think this book is really underappreciated.  But I'm the author, so what do I know?

Anyway, it's free right now, so if you enjoyed ACCIDENTAL DEATH and haven't read this yet, you're missing out.

Marketing Tuesday?

Okay, so I woke up late yesterday and I was a total toad, so I didn't get to my marketing.  Which means that we get Marketing Tuesday instead of Marketing Monday.

To that end, both of the books in the Dennis Haggarty Mystery series are up for marketing.

For a limited time, get both books in the Dennis Haggarty Mystery series for the low price of only 99c. (Both are always free with Kindle Unlimited.) Now thru Friday, ACCIDENTAL DEATH is free and NATURAL CAUSES has been reduced to 99c. Pick up both today!

Natural Causes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y44BXTM

Enjoy!

Sunday Update 9/15/24

It's Sunday and I'm actually awake before 6.  Winner winner.

This week in writing was fairly uneventful.  I only wrote once for a total of 1539 words.  This is what falling off the writing horse looks like.  Derp.  I only edited a couple of days, too.  I'm up to 16% on my edit notes.  I need a good ass kicking and I'm just the gal to do it.  We'll see.  I'll need a lot more coffee before I can accomplish anything more than talk.

I didn't do much in the way of marketing until yesterday.  Natural Causes is free right now, so I did posts in all the FB groups.  I moved 41 copies so far.  I need to wait until after 7am to do another round because I did not get up any earlier than that yesterday.  Which kind of has a wave effect making every day's posts a little later until I just end up doing one night post and missing a day.  With the marketing I've been doing since June, I've made about double what I made from January to May.  So I've got that goin' for me.

No reading.

I don't think I talked about baking last week, but I've been doing a lot of it.  Week before last, I made applesauce bars (meh), and breaded pork chops (yum), chocolate cookies (yay), and pizza (woohoo).  This past week, I made applesauce bread (yum) and oatmeal jam bars (yum).

Activity... Well, I did the window washing thing.  That was a lot of work and I paid for it.  I also walked three times for a total of 3.2 miles.  Weight... blerg.  You cannot lose weight, even if you're walking a lot, if you're also baking a lot.  Suffice it to say, I'm up almost three pounds.  :eyeroll:  I'm not really at a point where I'm really giving a hoot about how much I weigh, but if I keep adding poundage, I'll reach that point extra quick.  I gain weight and my legs start hurting and my back starts being a turd and my frontal area expansion gets problematic.  Best to worry about the weight now than face the consequences later.

Oh, oh, oh... one thing I did was something I've been procrastinating about for months.  I loaded my graphics software onto this computer.  I was so afraid of it not working with Windows 10, I didn't even try.  Long story short, it works fine.  I mean, as fine as it did through the last couple of operating system upgrades.  Which is fine enough for what I need.  So, yay.  I can start making graphics and book covers again.  Woohoo.

Oh, another happy thing... I had somebody actually buy a paperback copy of Project Hermes.  Well, she asked for a copy of BloodFlow because she was looking at old marketing materials and I took one to her because I don't have any paperbacks of Project Hermes on hand right now.  It all worked out.  She was happy to get it and I was happy to get it to her.  I really need to create new marketing materials - which I can do now that I have the software loaded.  Squee.

Another thing of note, we have a young armadillo hanging around the yard.  I have name him Aloysius. Aloysius Q. Armadillo.  He's all new looking.  Fresh off the factory floor, so to speak.  And so cute.  I hope he stays out of the road.  Around here, I see a lot of armadillos creamed alongside the road, so fingers crossed little Al doesn't meet the same fate.

The fawns are getting big.  The does are getting impatient.  The bucks are losing their velvet and starting to spar.  The rut is fast approaching.  Which leads to hunting season.  As always, I hope none of our deer regulars get harvested.  The herd needs to get culled, but I'd miss Sissy and Sonny and Lumpy.

I think that's about all I have to talk about this morning.  Besides, I need another smoke and more coffee so I can greet the day with more than a sneer.

How are things in your world?

Randomosity

It's Tuesday.  Yeah, I probably don't have to tell y'all that.  You're probably well aware.  Me?  I need a reminder from time to time.

Today the sale ends for Blink of an I and begins for Sleeping Ugly.  SU will be on sale through the end of Monday and the sale for the A Dennis Haggarty Mystery series will begin at midnight PST on Tuesday the 23rd.  That last one paid has advertising attached.  An ad will go out on Friday the 26th.  Fingers crossed.  I'll post more about the SU sale tomorrow on Outside the Box.

I'm back to work on Ugly and the Beast.  I have a page and a half of notes left to input, then I'll start all over again making new notes and fixing other things.  No promises about when it'll be available for publication, but at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel.  The long, long tunnel.  Actually, it's more like a rat hole, but there's a light.

Yesterday, I finished a book so damn good that I had to buy the sequel.  At full price, which ought to tell you something.  And I started reading it right away, which also ought to tell you something.  I almost never read books in a series back to back, but I couldn't help myself.  It's already delivering on the promise made by the first book.  If you're into fun and snarky urban fantasy, go forth and buy a copy of Necropolis by Shane Simmons.  I haven't been this excited about a new urban fantasy series since I picked up Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire.  There's only two books in this series right now, which will be fine if he wraps it up right.  :fingers crossed:

I'd like new readers to get excited about my books like that.  And, you know, write reviews so other readers can see how excited they are.

Well, I suppose I should get cracking and do something positive this morning.  This stuff isn't going to do itself.  Have a great day and I'll see y'all tomorrow.

Thursday This n That

Clock changing time again this Sunday.  Yeah, it's stupid.  Yeah, it's pointless.  But hey, it's our governmental geniuses at work.  The smart President hoping for re-election would win in a landslide if he used one of his executive orders to do away with the time changing travesty once and for all.

I watch so many real life cop shows.  I can automatically tell when people on those are lying or fake crying or faking injuries.  Or faking that they can't understand English.  It's sad how many people out there are bald-faced liars.  Does give me a lot of fodder for writing, though.

Speaking of which, Natural Causes is on sale, in case you missed any of the many places I notified people about it.

I love how all the Chewy.com commercials say that shipping is free.  Sure, it's free.  If you spend more than like $50.  Do you know how much cat food I'd have to order to reach $50?  I guess I could order food and litter and maybe find some other stuff, but I'd be like a freakin' prepper in here.  There's only so much space available for all that stuff.

I saw my best in-person fan the other day.  She's the cashier at my feed store. It had been long enough that we were talking and joking and laughing for like ever when another customer got in line behind me and I hadn't even given her my feed order yet.  I offered to let him go in front of me, but he was cool.  So, I finally finished up and went out to let the guys load my order.  While I was waiting, the other customer came out to get his feed loaded.  He looks at me and says "She told me you were an author."  I love her so much for doing that.  So, I talked with him a bit and then gave him one of my marketing materials - the postcard with my first 12 books.  Turns out his wife has always wanted to write a book but has never had the time.  I hope she gives it a try and finds she really does have the time to reach her dream.

I really need some new marketing materials, but I am so full-up with older stuff, I'm running out of space to put everything.  And I can't bear to throw anything out, so don't even suggest that.

What's on your this n that list today?
