This n That Thursday - Randomosity

I got three numbers in the Missouri Show Me Cash drawing last night.  $10.  Woohoo!  Par-tay!

We have a rabbit here whose left ear doesn't stand up.  I call it 'Radar'.  Mostly because when I was growing up, a neighbor had a German Shepherd with one ear that didn't stand up and they called him Radar.  Yes, I have an unoriginal critter naming system.

I didn't like a certain celebrity before their big announcement and I'm not inclined to like them now because they announced this thing. (How's that for vague?)  I think I'd be a huge hypocrite if I pretended to.  Can't stand hypocrites.

A Carolina wren is making a home in the window casing in my bathroom.  There are twigs and moss all over the place in there.  He's a very loud little bird.  (And yeah, it's a he, because if I read right, males are the only ones who sing in this species.)  He was my alarm clock yesterday morning at 5:30am.

I read somewhere that Shel Silverstein wrote the Johnny Cash song 'A Boy Named Sue'.  Makes sense.

One scoop of cheap-ass vanilla ice cream in the bowl with one scoop of some special, more-expensive ice cream makes the joy last longer and saves money.

Sunday I mentioned Teeny-Tiny Tina, the miniscule deer.  Well, here she is:

Of course, you have no reference point nearby to judge her size.  Trust me, she's about 2/3rds the size of an average yearling.

What random things do you have for me this morning?

  1. I have a whole chorus of Carolina wrens and yes, you can hear those suckers for blocks!

I have the "3 Bears" who come by each evening to eat the dog food the boys turned up their noses at. They are black feral cats in Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear sizes. They're skittish and I haven't been able to get a photo yet.

Summer is finally here, with all the heat and humidity that is it's Oklahoma trademark.

The Cardinals are alone in 1st place in the NL Central Division. Matt Holiday's 45-game on-base streak ended when the plate umpire ejected him from the game before he reached base. *snarl* It was a stupid call because Matt wasn't arguing balls and strikes nor did he use profanity.

I should be editing. I'm down to the last 4 chapters.

I need more coffee. But that's not necessarily random. I always need more coffee. LOLOL Happy Thursday.

  2. Random huh? Finished a T-shirt quilt for a mate's 40th birthday, posting it today.

Sun shone beautifully yesterday. Dull, grey & rainy today.

Sold my record player & LPs and now have room for more books - woo hoo!

Cried a little after selling the RP & LPs as I've had some of them since 1972, but got no room for them and don't play them anymore. Sticking iPOD in dock is way easier and all the music is on that anyway.

Encouraged youngest son who is trying to find his first job.

I think that about covers it. Happy Thursday to y'all too.
