Sunday Update - Week 21

Welcome to Sunday!

Let's see...

I wasn't as much of a slug as I thought last week.  After tallying the words over the past seven days, I see that I hot 9863.  Woohoo.  I've still got 14198 to write before the month is over, but it's do-able.  As long as I average about 2K a day.  We'll see what I can crank out today and tomorrow to make that average come down a little.

In other news, I spent some time online ordering the stuff for our next two projects* - 1) putting a vapor barrier under the house and 2) removing the orange paint from the exterior.  Oh, and we got blinds for the garage windows because when the sun hits that side of the house, it heats the place up in there and we're trying to delay putting the AC unit in the window.

I only got two books read last week.  My friend JB Lynn's newest The Mutt and the Matchmaker (totally fun and cute and awesome) and Tess Gerritsen's The Bone Garden (not cute or fun, but still pretty good).

Oh, and yesterday, I saw a turtle in the yard.  First turtle of the year here on the hill.  I know it's not really exciting out there in the world, but I was jazzed.

Other than that, the week's a blur.  How'd things go for you?

*If you order stuff through Amazon, try out their Amazon Smile program.  A percentage of the total cost of your order goes to the charity of your choosing.  This week, I ordered some rolls of Gorilla Tape and my charity got a small bit of fundage.  Pretty neat, eh?

  3. Hooray for all those words! And yay for getting rid of the orange paint. Have you decided on a new color scheme?

I've been reading too much and writing too little. Back to work! :-)

    1. Thanks, Deb! We haven't decided what we're going to stain it when we get done, or if we're just going to leave it natural. Pretty much anything has to be better than orange, though. LOL

Reading is very important, but yes, get back to writing. :whipcrack:

      ;o)

  4. A day late, but here I am. Great job on that monthly word count! I know you're going to reach your goal!!

Ooh, Tess Gerritsen - haven't read her in a long time. I'll have to check the library and see if they have any of her newer works.

A turtle! Wow! We had deer trampling through the yard yesterday. Taz was not happy - she scared them off before they could eat my hostas (which, I believe in Deer World, are salad bars ;)

    1. And you thought you were late. ;o)

Thanks, Janet! And you were right. I did reach it.

I think you might like this Gerritsen. It's mostly 1830s Boston, so it's got the historical thing. Plus, it's suspenseful.

Yep, Mr. Turtle, looking particularly dapper in his breeding orange stripes. We won't talk about deer trampling. There are so many things I want to plant, but can't because the deer would much them. :sigh: Traded pretty vegetation for feeding critters.

  5. Over 9k for the week's not shabby at all! I'm starting a new project, while querying my previous one. And training my horse. Staying busy!

    1. Nope, not shabby. I'm always like 'I could've done more', though. Go you with your new project! And good luck with the querying! And the horse training. Busy's good. Just don't be a stranger. ;o)
