Sunday Update - Week 29

Hey, I remembered on a Sunday!  I totally rock.

What happened last week?  Let's see...

I rolled out the cover reveal for the ebook version of Wish in One Hand.  Now I just need to complete the edits so I can put it out for pre-order.  So close.  I'll be showing the print version to my newsletter subscribers in the blast I send on August 1st, along with some exclusive stuff - a snippet, a contest for a free book, a chance to read an early ecopy of the book.  So, if you're not a newsletter subscriber, get on that before 8/1.  K?

I downloaded some other new image manipulation software that is supposedly to be comparable to my ancient Microsoft Image Composer.  So totally not.  Bleh.  I'll keep using the old stuff until some future updated Windows makes me stop.

My hardcopy book order arrived.  Ideal by Ayn Rand, Audacious by Mike Shepherd, Sew Deadly by Elizabeth Lynn Casey, and the National Audubon Society's Field Guide to Mushrooms.  Yeah, I'm eclectic.

I made some headway editing Bloodflow this week.  I love this book so much.  And this was the book that frightened me because it's pretty intricate with all the players and the intrigue and the technical stuff.  But it's coming together and should be ready for a November launch.

Oh, and if you missed the cover reveal, here it is:

What's news in your world?

  1. You rock! Hmmmm, are you using the Field Guide to Mushrooms for research for a book?
This week I put Hitwoman 10 up for pre-order and continued writing Hitwoman 11...and I poked at the RS that's waiting for me to tackle content edits...

    1. LOL, actually I got it because we have so many different kinds of mushrooms around the yard, I thought it would be nice to know what they are. My mushroom research was online last month.

Yay! I'm totally jazzed about another Hitwoman book! And another! Keep poking at that RS. I want to read it.

  3. I'm taking a break from from flailing. I'm not packed. I haven't done my "personal hygiene stuffs -- mani/pedi version*. I printed out my boarding passes and realize I have a ten minute window to change gates in Dallas in the morning. I'm thinking I have 40 minutes between flights when I made the reservations. Uhm...I totally forgot boarding times. *headdesk* At least I'm landing at Love, not DFW. So....Yeah. I'm all about the last minutes stuff before a week-long trip. At the same time I'm stressed, I'm really looking forward to the trip.

Yay on cover reveals, newsletters, and BLOOD FLOW! I'll try to check in while I'm gone. Depends on exhaustion level and wifi at the hotel. LOLOL I'll miss y'all!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Here's hoping that you're packed by now, Silver! And did your stuffs. Gah! I hate running across airports and I haven't even been in Dallas. Sorry you're stressed, but that'll be over soon and you'll be having fun in the big apple!

Thanks! Check in when and if you can. I'll totally miss you, too. And Jen. And Karin. And all the others who'll be together this week while I'm sitting here with a quieter internet. :hugs:

  4. You really are racing in high gear. I'll be watching for the newsletter!

I fell a few days ago. Lovely 3-point landing, by the bruise pattern. I sprained my forearm (or did something to it; I refuse to see the doctor unless it gets worse), so I'm typing one-handed. That's sure to mess up my schedule. Sigh. But I'm grateful I didn't break anything. :-)

    1. I'm trying, Deb! Thanks. I really need to get working on that, so I'm not rushing it together at the last minute. LOL

Oh no! I hope it's nothing you end up going to the doctor for. (I'm the same way - it needs to be worse for me to go.) Positive thoughts for a speedy recovery. :HUGS:

  5. I had a busy week at work as the boss was on holiday, a lovely evening out with friends eating scrumptious Italian food and a weekend of hand sewing. My fault on the hand sewing. I'm trying to get a hexagon quilt finished before I go away on Saturday. I'm almost done and should finish it tonight, thank goodness.

    1. Ugh. I hated when someone else being out of the office made my work harder. Yay for the lovely evening out, though! And for the sewing. I totally stink at hand sewing. I hope you got your quilt finished! You should stop by and share a pic or something.

    1. Thanks, Alexia! Eh, software is a pain in the buns but it's worth it most times. Heh, yeah, I have a lot of Field Guides - birds (east and west), trees, wildflowers, bugs, butterflies, and now mushrooms.

Bloodflow is a political suspense with a bit of technothriller. Vince Flynn meets Michael Crichton with me splattered all over it. =o)
