Saturday Reading Wrap-up 12/14/24

Hello.  My name is Inigo Mon... Oops, wrong #.  You know who I am and what this is, so let's go for it.

Yesterday, I stopped at the thrift store and picked up 8 new books for a buck.  Woot.  I got an autobiography, a compilation of prose and poetry, a Nero Wolfe, a suspense, two cozy mysteries, and two political thrillers.  No new ebooks yet.  Maybe today I'll take some time to do that.

Books Read:

34) The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie (12/9/24) - Mystery - 5 stars.  Neither new to me nor underappreciated.  I've had this book for years and I have read it before (and I'll read it again).  I think I got it for like $1 at a library sale while I was still in CO.
Review: "
Every time I read this, it's as awesome as it was before."

No DNFs this week.  Yay.

Currently reading... I'm still working my way through the big book o' HG Wells stories.   I knocked out two of them this week, but since I haven't finished the book, they don't count.  Yesterday, I started that Nero Wolfe - if I read it right, it's three stories in one paperback, and I'm still on the first story.  So much yum.

What was on your reading wrap-up this week?

  1. I upped my GR goal from 90 to 95 because I hit #89 yesterday. Still doing the whole Kristin Ashley Rock Chick series relisten. I'm currently on #9.5, which is sort of the last one. I may go back and pick up #.5 (sort of a prequel, but the story of a major secondary character who was "dropped" into the series sort of whole cloth.) Once I'm done, there are two new books in a sort of spin-off--same world, new characters with cameos by old characters. Okay, technically, the hero of the first in the new series is a grown-up version of a teen character so yeah, there ya go. None are in need of reviews nor new to me author but with limited brain-space, familiar is a good thing this time of year. LOLOL

    Happy reading!
