It was too darn cold, and my brain froze. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

The water situation is trustworthy enough I did laundry today. Yay! (It's the little things that make me happiest.)

So far I've only seen one dead bird, probably a dove. I've heard of far worse south of here. But most of the tiny birds seem to have made it through.

My nephew is currently fixing Mom's pipes, and later will work on my brother's. My sister's kitchen pipe froze, too, but BIL managed to fix it yesterday. Everybody thought it would be my place that froze up, since I'm out on the wind plain. I feel so lucky! '...Yeah, 2021 is it's own source of misery. 'Nuff said.

We went 293 hours below freezing with way to many of those hours sub-zero. We broke some tempurature records but not the hours record, with was 360-something set back in 1983. That was the first winter LG and I were married. You'd think I'd remember that winter. I don't. Ah well. Anyway, we kept power, gas, and water. Only had one minor blip in a frozen pipe, which the hairdryer took care of.

All ferals made it through. I've seen them all as of last night. This morning, only 3 showed up but that happens. They'll be back around tonight. Also, we stay above freezing last night. Yay!

We've turned off the wall heaters and the space heater in the garage. Still keeping the house on 68 as a way to compensate the bump in usage which will bump up the bill.

Writing was most nil though I did get some new words. I really need to get back in the saddle and make myself work. I had great plans for this year and I'm letting my head get the best of me.

I'm actually down a little on the weight, under 190 this morning. I ordered new jeans as incentive to stay there and/or lower.

The birds ARE singing. Haven't heard them in over a week. Nice noise now that the sun is fully up.

Not much else going on. You got my reading update yesterday. No special cooking/baking, just our usual cold-weather fare.

Giving blood this afternoon since there's a major critical shortage. Probably won't get much written today as a result. I finished the audio book I was listening to and now I need to find on to listen to while I'm at the donation center. Off to do that and start stuffing protein into my mouth in preparation.

Hang in there! And I'm soooo ready for Spring!Silver Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15606837105470988646noreply@blogger.com
